How to change the PDServer address for multiple Lexmark devices simultaneously

The PDServer address that the PDLexmark embedded app uses to connect to Print Director, is stored on the printer. If the PDServer’s address has changed (for example, after a server migration) it must be updated on each Lexmark device. This can be done by using the printer’s web interface to access the PD Lexmark application configuration, or it can be sent using Resource Manager.

Ensure the devices have the correct Managing PDServer

After a server migration it may be necessary to change the Managing PDServer for the devices. If this has already been done, or if changing the PDServer is not necessary, skip to the next section.

• Open Resource Manager.
• Navigate to Print Management > Shared Devices.
• In the list on the right, check the Managing PDServer Any devices not showing the correct PDServer must be edited:
  • Hold control and multiselect the devices.
  • Click the Edit button.
  • On the General tab, tick the checkbox to the left of the Managing PDServer label and change the value in the dropdown.
  • Click OK + Refresh All.

Ensure the Lexmark Integrated records have the correct PDServer address

Now that we’ve ensured that the devices are set to the correct Managing PDServer, we must ensure they will send the correct PDServer address to the device.

• Open Resource Manager.
• Navigate to Print Management > Lexmark Integrated.
• In the list on the right, check the PDServer connect address Any devices showing the incorrect address will need to be edited:
  • Hold control on the keypad and multiselect the devices to be edited.
  • Click the Edit button.
  • Click the Initialisation tab.
  • In the App settings frame, tick the checkbox to the left of the PDServer address label, and enter the correct address, or choose the correct address from the dropdown.
  • Click OK + Refresh All.

Push the PDServer address setting to multiple devices

Now that we’ve ensured the devices have the correct Managing PDServer and address, we can send the new address to many at the same time:

• Open Resource Manager.
• Navigate to Print Management > Lexmark Integrated.
• Multi-select the devices on the right.
• Right click on the selection and choose Send Command > Send PDServer address.

• A form will be displayed showing the progress. If all are successful, the form will close.
