How to create a screen saver on Konica Minolta embedded devices that shows a series of images
When a printer is idle, the LCD screen shows the login screen until it goes into low power mode and switches off. Using the Print Director screen saver functionality, you can show corporate adverts or announcements on the screen before low power mode is initiated. These images will cycle continuously until the user touches the panel after which the normal authentication screen will appear.
Different screen savers can be assigned to different groups of printers.
Create a screen saver
- In Resource Manager, navigate to Print Management > Konica Minolta Integrated.
- Double click a printer on the right.
- On the General tab, in the Screen saver frame, change the Set screen saver drop-down to Install screen saver.
- On the right of the Screen saver drop-down, click the button with … on it.
- In the Search for Konica Minolta Screen Saver window, click the New button.
- Enter a descriptive name in the Screen saver name textbox.
- In the Screen saver type drop-down, choose Show images.
- Click the Add image button.
- A file browse dialog box will open, select the image to be displayed from a folder. It is recommended to use images with dimensions 1024×768 pixels. Images will be zoomed to fill the panel screen.
- Once the image is selected, the image form will display the image. You can rotate the image if desired and set the number of seconds the image will be displayed before the next image is shown.
- Click OK.
- Repeat the steps above for all images to be displayed in the sequence.
- Click OK.
- Initialise the device.
