How to change the PDServer IP address for Konica Minolta printers

When the Print Director app is installed on a Konica Minolta printer, it is given the IP address of the PDServer it connects to. If that address changes, for example when the server moves to a new network, each printer must be given the new address and initialised again. Until then, users cannot log in at those printers.

One printer

  1. In Resource Manager, edit the shared device (Print Management > Shared Devices, double-click the printer) and click Controller.
  2. On the General tab, under Primary server, check that PDServer host name shows the right server.
  3. Click Resolve next to Host or IP, then choose the new address from the list. A server with more than one network adapter has more than one address: choose the one the printer can reach.
  4. If the printer also uses a Secondary server whose address has changed, do the same for it.
  5. On the Initialisation tab, enter the Admin password if needed and click Gather info.
  6. Click Initialise now, and check the output box for errors. Initialising replaces the Print Director apps already on the printer.
  7. Click OK + Refresh All, then test by logging in at the printer panel.

Several printers at once

  1. In Resource Manager, open Print Management > Konica Minolta Integrated.
  2. Select the printers, right-click them and choose Edit n Konica Minolta devices.
  3. On the General tab, tick the change box beside Host or IP, click Resolve and choose the new address. Do the same for the Secondary server if needed.
  4. Click OK.
  5. With the printers still selected, right-click and choose Initialise n Konica Minolta devices. When asked, click Yes to use the highest function versions each printer supports, or No to use the versions from its last initialisation.
  6. Check the results for each printer in the window that opens, then test by logging in at one of the printers.
